DNA Appliance
Bellevue, WA
How Does the DNA Appliance Work?
The DNA Appliance works by gently widening the upper arch and nasal passages to allow greater airflow, improving breathing function. This, in turn, encourages the lower arch to reposition itself into a more optimal location.
Unlike CPAP machines, which must be worn nightly to manage sleep apnea symptoms, the DNA Appliance helps to address the root causes. Over time, it can eliminate the need for ongoing treatment altogether by permanently remodeling the airway.
Benefits of the DNA Appliance
This appliance supports both orthodontic and therapeutic improvements:
- Improvement in sleep apnea and snoring
- Reduction in TMJ symptoms
- Enhanced teeth alignment
- Discrete, removable design
- No bulky headgear or traditional braces
- Effective for both adults and children
- Encourages upper arch development in children
- Works during sleep—like a removable orthodontic retainer
- Often achieves results in less time than traditional braces
What Does “DNA” Mean in This Appliance?
Q: The appliance is called DNA or Daytime-Nighttime Appliance. Are genes involved?
A: Yes—but not in a synthetic or invasive way. The DNA Appliance stimulates the natural expression of your body’s own genes to support proper development of the jaw, facial structure, and airway. This field is known as Epigenetic Orthodontics, and the treatment uses your body’s biology to promote growth and correction without surgery or permanent hardware.
The system was developed by Dr. Singh and is specially engineered to bioengineer the craniofacial complex—enhancing breathing, sleep, facial structure, and jaw alignment.
